A new nude statue has been unveiled in New York City, but one person who saw the nude statue at the New York Public Library says it’s not a statue of the actress.
The nude statue was unveiled in a new exhibit titled “A New Look at a New Way of Life” at the Manhattan Public Library, according to a statement from the library.
The statue, which has a black marble base and is draped in black and white, was erected by artist and New York State sculptor Jenna Marples.
It features a smiling figure with her hands clasped behind her back, her eyes closed, and the caption, “From the first time I saw this statue, I knew I had to do something.”
A museum spokeswoman said the statue, named “Naked: The Life of Jenna Marple,” is part of the library’s permanent collection and was designed by Marples herself.
The museum has not yet announced a location for the new exhibit.
The Library of Congress, which owns the museum, did not immediately return a request for comment.
A spokeswoman for the library told Axios that the display will be displayed at the library from June 15 to June 21.
