The Democratic front-runner has said Bernie Sanders’ role in the 2016 financial crisis should have been more extensive than what he was able to do himself.
Speaking to CNN’s Erin Burnett in the first of several interviews set to air Monday on her new reality series, ‘The Circus,’ the former Secretary of State said that while she had been in the White House, she did not take any action against Wall Street institutions and it should not be taken for granted that the former president should have taken action himself.
“It was a massive crisis.
It was like the Great Depression.
It didn’t have a big impact on the stock market.
And I think if we had done more, that could have changed the course of history,” she said.”
I think the only thing that was really good was to do what I did, which is to work with the Democrats in Congress, work with Bernie Sanders in the Senate and to have a lot of leverage.
He did a lot, but it wasn’t enough.”
The first-term senator, who has long been one of the most outspoken opponents of Wall Street, is not the only candidate to speak out against Wall St’s behavior.
Earlier this month, former Florida Gov.
Jeb Bush and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, as well as former Secretary and former New York Gov.
Howard Dean, released a joint statement calling on the former presidents to step up.
“Senator Sanders has called out the greed of the big banks, and that is a dangerous and irresponsible statement,” the statement reads.
“He has called for reforms to the financial industry and has taken on big banks like JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and others.
But the financial crisis has left too many families behind.
It has left our economy scarred, with the worst recession since the Great War, and with millions of Americans out of work.
We need to do everything we can to rebuild our economy and rebuild our society.
That means doing more to help people and working to get the big Wall Street banks to get off the sidelines.””
I will never, ever, support a candidate who is willing to say ‘you know what, you know what?
There are so many good people on Wall St who have taken on these big banks,” Clinton said. “
She also added that she thinks Sanders should “get his act together and make the reforms that he wants to make to help the American people.””
We can’t let them keep on taking our money, our jobs, our wealth and our health care and our education.””
But we need to have the ability to take on these banks.
We can’t let them keep on taking our money, our jobs, our wealth and our health care and our education.”
The second season of the show, which has been released on Netflix, will air on January 18 and will feature a different host each week.
The first season aired in April, and will air in January.
